Founder, Psychologist, Coach, Facilitator
Registered Psychologist with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC) in the UK. Trained Executive Coach.
Steve grew up in rural England, spending much of his early childhood losing track of time in the local woods. He went on to train as a Psychologist, initially working in the National Health Service before joining YSC Consulting, a global Leadership Consultancy. In his role he assessed and coached senior business leaders in multinational companies and government organizations. Following a stint as the Head of YSC’s Singapore business, he relocated to Ontario, Canada with his family. In doing so, he continued his passion for working with individuals experiencing burnout and PTSD, in particular those in frontline occupations. During this time he nurtured an increasing personal and professional interest in nature connection; and a belief that our disconnect from the rest of nature plays an important role in both modern life unhappiness and in the escalating climate crisis.
The field of Ecopsychology offered a language for explaining our situation, and a powerful antidote. From this, the Embers Project came about, with the aim of helping us to restore these broken bonds; fostering experiences of belonging, awe and meaningful connection. The very things that make us feel truly alive. Steve has undertaken additional professional training in Ecotherapy, and continues to practice as a Leadership Consultant, Executive Coach and Psychologist; indoors, outdoors, and virtually, depending on the need. He works as a Climate-aware coach and Psychologist. He is an Active Hope facilitator, drawing on the work of Joanna Macy to support psychological resilience in the face of today’s challenges.
